1987 Citroën 2cv6 Special For Sale

£15,495 Huddersfield, West Yorkshire ref # C4S-26731

1987 Citroen 2cv6 Special. 36350 genuine miles. Full restoration completed in the original white colour (Blanc Meije). MOT until May 20th 2025. A rare chance to get such a very clean car with fantastic documented history.

This car had just one owner from new and had only covered a genuine 35559 miles when I sourced it for restoration in 2021. It comes with the original sales invoice from when it was purchased new by the 1st gentleman owner in 1987 from E L Bouts in Willenhall, West Midlands for £3250. The comprehensive documentation and history is covered in further detail below.
The car arrived to me for restoration in what I recognised as a good original condition, well maintained and not ‘messed with’, with all the correct original details such as engine bay wiring ties that typically get mislaid. It had obviously been very well looked after, except for suffering from corrosion in the usual places. With such a good history, I felt the car warranted the full restoration that is detailed below. Since completion last year, it has been kept in a warm garage, and I’ve added approx 700 miles to it, the highlight being a journey to reunite the car with its original owner, and allowing him to drive it with his now grown up grandchildren who he used to take to school in it!
The car drives perfectly as you’d expect from the mileage and the work undertaken (see below). This is as near to a new and original 2cv as you can find for this kind of money, and should offer years of happy motoring. It has now covered 36350 miles. See details of restoration below, and where somethings not listed you can assume its in good original condition and has only completed 36k miles.

HISTORY
The car has its original sales invoice from August 1987 when it was sold by E. L. Bouts Citroen main dealer in Willenhall. The receipt lists the car as new, but it had been pre registered to the dealership initially (original logbook as evidence of this). Therefore, the logbook currently states 2 previous owners.
The car was serviced and maintained by the same dealership until it had covered 21219 miles in 1994. It was then maintained by an independent mechanic until 2001, with written receipts provided.
Mot documents exist for 1994, 2001 and all mileages stack up.
Having been taken off the road in 2002 (the last tax disc expired in Nov 2002), the car had some parts removed for a renovation but remained under cover on 2 wheels on the owners driveway until I acquired it in 2021.
I have a bundle of receipts from various Citroen specialists for many of the parts purchased during the restoration of the car. Lots of photos were also taken during restoration to verify standard of work undertaken and the rust free condition prior to paint. These can be provided to the next owner.

If you’ve read this far, you must be reasonably interested. The car is located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and I’d be happy to talk further to anyone with genuine interest in this. Viewing highly recommended as there aren’t many this good.
