MirrorCool Glass & Surround Kit to replace the cracked or crumbling grey surround on a Cipa mirror with the reference number ‘310’ or ‘310’ stamped into the back of the mirror housing.
- Flexible silicone rubber grey surround trim. (UV & temperature resistant, so won’t shrink or crack: will remain flexible).
- Convex* mirror glass. Highest Quality. (Made to EU automotive standard: 1st-surface chromed convex glass with slight tint).
- Foam backing/spacing pads. (Waterproof closed-cell).
Cipa 310 or 320 mirror is a stainless steel (more shallow bodied) copy of the original 355 or 358 aluminium mirror and has been sold over the last 15-20 years as a replacement for the original 355/358 on Citroen DS and some other French classics, including some Citroën CX. The housings were more cheaply produced than those of other Cipa mirrors and the shape of the corners can vary slightly, meaning that sometimes the new surround trim may not sit perfectly in these areas.
Our kit for the Cipa 310/320 mirror includes a new (convex*) mirror glass. Attempting to refit the original (approx 156mm x 103.5mm) glass in this type of mirror is not recommended as there is insufficient clearance for the MirrorCool surround trim within the housing. This is why our kit includes a new mirror glass, which has been specially made to compensate for this, (155mm x 102.5mm).
*Convex mirrors give the driver a wider field of view, however this also means that images in the mirror appear to be further away than they actually are. This information is not printed on the glass and so may not be suitable for some areas outside the EU, where this may be a legal requirement.
