Mirror Glass & Surround Kit (Cipa 54, 195 or 225)

MirrorCool Glass & Surround Kit to replace the cracked or crumbling grey surround on original Cipa mirror with reference number ’54’ , ‘195’ or ‘225’ stamped into the back of the mirror housing.

Kit includes:

• Flexible silicone rubber grey surround trim. (UV & temperature resistant, so won’t shrink or crack: will remain flexible).
• Convex* mirror glass. (Made to EU automotive standard: 1st-surface chromed convex glass with slight tint).
• Foam backing/spacing pad. (Waterproof closed-cell).

Cipa 54, 195 and 225 mirrors were fitted as original equipment to a huge number of Citroens, Peugeots, & Renaults, some Simcas / Chryslers and also some Morgans.

• Citroen models include higher spec DS (Pallas etc), some early Ami 8 and some SM.
• Peugeot models include some 204, 304, 404, 504.
• Renault models include some 4, 5, 8, 10, 12 & 16, (from late 1960s to the early 1980s, depending on model).
• Simca/Chrysler models: various from late ’60s up to late ’70s.
• Morgan models with extendable mirror arms and Cipa mirror casings. (We also have kits and other parts for the Geco version).
• Other French vehicles from the same era.

Our kits for Cipa 54/195/225 mirrors includes a new (convex*) mirror glass.  Attempting to refit the original (139mm x 88mm) glass in this type of mirror is not recommended as there is insufficient clearance for the MirrorCool surround trim within the housing. This is why our kit includes a new mirror glass, which has been specially made to compensate for this, (138mm x 87mm).

*Convex mirrors give the driver a wider field of view, however this also means that images in the mirror appear to be further away than they actually are. This information is not printed on the glass and so may not be suitable for some areas outside the EU, where this may be a legal requirement.
