Blackjack Avion – a thing of beauty!
Excellent condition all round – Very well looked after but I just don’t get to enjoy her (as an MOT history check will demonstrate with only a few hundred miles in the last few years) – also wife not keen on the wind in the hair/seat of the pants driving experience and the dog is not keen either!. Flew straight through the MOT at the end of May with no advisories. New exhaust rubbers and a front wheel bearing done in the last 12 months as they were advisories last year. Genuine sale of a much loved machine – but the usual story of too many cars/projects and not enough time. I will probably regret this sale but I have decided to focus on getting my 2cv pickup finished and then onto a recent accidental mehari purchase – which needs a full rebuild to rescue before the chassis folds in two!).
Blackjack cars was founded by the renowned car designer Richard Oaks of Marcos, Lotus, Davrian and GTM Midas fame. He produced the Avion which was based on Citroen 2cv mechanicals. This is the rarer aero model. It has Citroen’s 602 flat twin which has hi comp pistons, lightened flywheel, 1.5″ SU carb and free flow exhaust (sounds fantastic!). She runs really well and is a complete hoot to drive. Open to sensible offers and happy to discuss further and take you for a spin. Please note I am in north Northumberland right up by the Scottish border so please consider this as we are quite a ways from everywhere.
