Citroen 2CV Special. 1984
For sale is my French built Citroen 2CV Special in outstanding condition.
In 2021-2022 a complete nut and bolt restoration by a well respected restorer was undertaken, which included a new windscreen surround, lower bulkhead, floors, sills, inner rear wing panels and boot floor.
After paintwork, the vehicle was reassembled on to a galvanised chassis and included the following components:
Braking system and calipers overhauled, including all new discs, pads, shoes and cupro-nickel brake pipes. All rubber fuel hoses replaced with E10 compatible hose.
Many new parts fitted, including a full exhaust system, upgraded shock absorbers (4 x Burton Premium), new starter motor, voltage regulator, brake master cylinder, headlight units, 5 new wheels with Toyo 310 tyres, new wiper spindles, hood, interior trim set, seat bases and foam, battery isolation device and 123 electronic ignition. After completion, the vehicle was thoroughly Waxoyled (clear).
All work was carried out to a highly professional standard and a comprehensive record of the restoration is available.
Since purchased by me in 2022, this outstanding example of an appreciating classic has been little used, virtually never driven in the rain, always garaged, fastidiously cared for and drives faultlessly.
It had a full service and MOT by Cotswold 2CV in 2023. MOTd in 2024 with no advisories and an oil service in April 2025. Since its restoration, this vehicle has covered less than 1000 miles, hence its condition remains immaculate, rust free and almost certainly better than the day it left the factory in Paris.
Being 40 years old, it now has Historic Vehicle taxation class and is therefore Tax and MOT exempt.
