Peak 2cv are proud to offer this stunning AKS 400 for sale, on behalf of the owner, Donald- himself a (now-retired) 2cv specialist.
Imported by Donald from the Aube département of France in 2003; both its previous owners were friends of his and he had known the van for many years previously. He stored the van at his house until lockdown, when he commenced its thorough restoration. The body was stripped to bare metal and any rusty sections cut out and replaced (including the entire load bay floor), converted to right hand drive, and beautifully resprayed in its original colour of Beige Vanneau, along with all panels, including new items such as doors, spare wheel & tank covers. The chassis is the original, and is in perfect, as-new condition. Everything was extensively rustproofed throughout.
The van’s mechanical overhaul included new brakes (a front disc brake conversion was carried out), wheel and suspension arm bearings, and kingpins, new wheels and tyres all round. The engine was stripped down and overhauled, with 9:1 pistons being fitted for that little extra power. The van also received a new exhaust, clutch, alternator, and a Boyer Bransden semi-electronic ignition, and much more.
The van sailed through its MOT upon completion and has only covered a few hundred miles since. We can confirm that it drives every bit as well as it looks, and it wants for nothing.
Donald would like £15,000 for this exceptional van, which whilst not small money, is very-much justified in our opinion.
