1972 Citroën DS RHD 5 Speed Manual
South African car imported in 2017 by myself when relocating to UK. Prior to that it spend all its years in Johannesburg, 400 miles from the nearest coastline at an altitude of 5 700 feet.
Body and engine rebuild completed in SA just prior to relocation.
Hydraulics rebuild completed in UK.
67k miles – 5k since restoration. Original instrument cluster with 1 422km (101 422) was replaced with MPH in the UK. This cluster when received was at zero and has since done 4.3k miles. Original KPH cluster available.
Donor doors and boot used rather than welding during restoration.
Engine rebuilt with DS 21 pistons, sleeves, and fitted with a refurbished Weber DDE A1 carburettor.
New height correctors, suspension cylinders, brake command unit, accumulator, hydraulic pump, and steering rack, have been fitted in the UK.
Full list of replacement parts and engineering work carried out is listed in the spreadsheet “Summary of Repairs”, accompanied by invoices as indicated.
Huco electric “suction” fuel pump fitted to bulkhead for priming, controlled from the dashboard.
123 Electronic Ignition.
Welded spheres fitted however the originals will go with the car.
Interior is black leather and door cards (new) are faux leather.
Correct colour combination, interior and exterior, for SA assembled car.
Garage parked since restoration and never used on gritted roads. In fact, seldom used in the rain.
Starts and runs as it should.
60 second hydraulic pump cycle time on idle.
Not concourse, but well presented and in excellent mechanical condition. This car has wanted for nothing and is serviced annually irrespective of mileage, including regular LHM and radiator antifreeze replacement.
Registered as a historic vehicle however MOT will be supplied.
