1971 Citroen Ami 8 Saloon, RHD For Sale

£10,995 Lincoln ref # C4S-31640

Citroen Ami 8 Saloon RHD 1971 with SUNROOF in EXCELLENT CONDITION and MOT.

This Citroen Ami 8 Saloon has been lovingly rebuilt to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail. The Ami will provide an excellent everyday classic car or show car, being a very practical load carrier which is very economical and fun to drive.

The Ami is a right hand drive 1971 model which was I have owned for 16 years, with a low mileage and fitted with a an excellent condition 1970s Weathershields sunroof. It comes with the English V5C registration document, it will be sold with a full 12 months MOT and it is MOT and car tax free. It is ULEZ exempt.

When I bought this Ami in 2009 it was in good structural and mechanical condition with only 20k miles on the clock where it had been used as a holiday car. Since then I have brought it up to a beautiful car and used it for shows (where it has won awards) and now only has 37k miles.

The Ami was introduced in 1961 as the Ami 6 to fill the gap between the 2cv and the DS. The car was updated in 1969 to form the Ami 8 until it was discontinued in 1979. Using the layout of the 2cv, with a 602cc air cooled engine it makes the car easy to maintain, cheap to run and very practical with spares available.

Many hours have been spent rebuilding the Ami sympathetically to a very high standard. I have rebuilt many classic Citroens (and other classic cars), the previous cars have gone to very satisfied classic cars lovers. I’ve enjoyed, and taken pride in restoring the Ami and it will give me further enjoyment to see it used, loved and cared for. I am sure this Ami will provide joy to the new owner, just like my own Citroens have done over the past 35 years.

–Myself–

I have grown up with Amis with my father still having one from new in 1969. I’m a classic Citroen enthusiast and have been in the 2CVGB club for many years. I have restored many Citroens in the past and won awards for them. I’m passionate about classic Citroens and get excited when I see one on the road, this is part of my motivation to restore these cars – to keep them on the road, and for people to enjoy driving and seeing them.

–General Information–

Parts are readily available in England or France.

The Ami is MOT exempt (although it is offered for sale with a full MOT for peace of mind). The road tax is zero and the insurance is very low. It is ULEZ exempt.
