PLEASE NOTE: This is a frame, without cushion. Before selecting your frame(s), you need to add your headrest cushion(s) to your basket first, as these frames will only be supplied within the same order as an equal number of headrest cushions. (Orders for frames without cushions will be cancelled).
Head Rest Mounting Frames for 2cv, LN/LNA, etc. Very rare new (old stock) accessory, sold in Germany & some Scandinavian countries during the 1980s.
Once you have selected your headrest cushions, please select the type of mountings you require:
- Option A): One fixed mounting frame, as supplied from Citroen to fit standard 2cv seat frame, with fixings as described below* but without moulded rubberised frame-covers. (Cheapest option). If you choose this option for a car with a fully-covered seat frame, we suggest that for a neater result, you fit the mounting frame under the seat backrest cover instead of on top of it, and sew around the holes in the fabric to prevent tearing.
- Option B): One fixed mounting frame, as supplied from Citroen to fit standard 2cv seat frame, with fixings as described below* and with moulded rubberised frame-covers. Sorry: Sold out
- Option C): One quick-release tilt-down mounting frame, as supplied from Citroen to fit 3-dr LN/LNA where the seats tilt for rear seat access. We have used this type of mounting in our own 2cv van, which has hook-in seats, where a fixed head-rest would prevent the seat being tilted fully forwards, as it would touch the windscreen. Comes with its original fixings and larger upper & lower moulded rubberised frame-covers.
*Fixings:
The fixed mounting frame (option A or B) does not come with its original fixings, (a pair of M6 8.8-rated screws & a pair of plain nuts with small brackets). The last photo shows this type of fixings for illustrative purposes only: they are not supplied. However, we will provide a pair of higher tensile strength (12.9-rated) socket cap-head screws, with a pair of curved washers, a pair of flat washers and a pair of nyloc nuts (as shown in the penultimate photo). These will be supplied free of charge with each fixed head-rest frame and customers can choose whether to use these or to source their own fixings, based on their own assessments of suitability. (We have used these fixings on some of our own 2cvs and personally we prefer them to the originals).
The quick-release folding mounting frame (option C) comes with its original fixings, as supplied by Citroën.
With each order, we will supply a scanned copy of the original 2cv head rest fitting instructions, as supplied by German Citroën dealers, a google-translation of the German text into English and some additional notes regarding aligning and fitting.
Depending on the style of seat/covering, fitting normally requires partial removal of the seat covering material in order to drill the frame.
