Unlike the early 2cv fabric tubes, the later foam-lined cardboard heater hoses should never be clamped at the ends, as this just crushes them and severely shortens their life. They should be a snug fit at each end and long enough to be a tight fit between each end. If they are not, they need replacing. They were originally supported by lightly attaching to the adjacent cables (choke/accelerator/battery-starter/etc), with a rubber strap. These cable ties are an alternative to that rubber strap. They should not be fully tightened. On the left side, ensure that everything (particularly electrical wiring) is clear of the handbrake mechanism.
