Fuel-grade nitrile seals, suitable for the most common locking fuel caps fitted to A-series, D-series, HY, Traction & other classic Citroens (plus some classic Renaults, Peugeots, etc).
Set of 2 seals, ideal for locking caps that have a separate fixed locking ring that attaches to the filler neck, as shown in the first photo, (but also suitable for some that don’t have this arrangement*).
- 55mm x 38mm x 1.5mm, to replace the original rubber or cork seal between the fixed locking ring & the filler neck.
- 50mm x 32mm x 3mm, to replace the original rubber seal between the cap and the fixed locking ring.
On caps without a separate fixed locking ring, one of the seals in this set may be suitable. The other may be superfluous or may be suitable with a simple adaptation such as, (depending on the design of the cap), cutting a millimetre away from the inner edge to fully clear the stepped area where the cap fits into the ring.
Taking into account the current worries about the increasing ethanol content in fuel, we couldn’t use ordinary rubber and we also decided not to use cheaper standard nitrile but have instead opted for the high quality fuel-grade nitrile.
We have had these made to fit many different fuel caps, made by many different brands, including Valeo, PJ, Waso, KM & others, (as shown in photo: For almost all of the caps shown, both our seals are suitable. For a few, one is suitable).
The fuel cap seal is checked as part of the UK Mot test, (and similar roadworthiness inspections in other countries). Until now a failure would mean replacing the cap, for between about £15 and £45, depending on the type. Now you can just replace the seals.
