Due to variations on some models, a 13cm version may occasionally be required to lock some vehicles in 1st gear. For this reason, please measure your lever to ensure that you order the best DUKLOK for your requirements.
To determine whether the standard 18cm DUKLOK will fit your car, refer to the last 3 photos, (photos 7, 8 & 9), engage 1st gear and check the distance from the front face of the outer tube, to the point where the inner shaft starts to curve up towards the gear-knob: This needs to be a minimum of 165mm. (If you have slightly less, it may still fit if you have a little slack in the mechanism, that allows the lever to be gently moved further back).
If your measurement is shorter, check the following: When in neutral, the knurled section around the gearstick shaft should be at the entrance of the outer tube. If it is is not, your gearstick is incorrectly positioned. This may be a sign that a gearstick from a different mode has been fitted, or that a different type/length of link (between the gearstick and the upright lever) has been fitted but it is often due to the upright lever being clamped in a twisted position onto the gearbox. If after checking/rectifying these possible causes, you find that the standard 18cm DUKLOK is still too long for your vehicle, please do not order it!
